Shanti Maitree

Shanti Maitree is a non-governmental social development organization founded by a group of dedicated development activists committed to bringing the fruits of progress to underprivileged and tribal communities. Since its inception, the organization has successfully delivered impactful services, focusing on various aspects of welfare, empowerment, and sustainable development.

Shanti Maitree is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 as a non-profit, non-political organization. It operates with a spirit of commitment, dedication, and compassion towards those in need.

With active community participation, Shanti Maitree implements a wide range of programs, emphasizing tribal areas and vulnerable groups. The organization is guided by a well-defined Bye-law and Memorandum of Association, with a General Body and Governing Body to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective functioning.

Our Mission

SHANTI MAITREE is dedicated its commitment from grass root level for empowerment and emancipation of Dalits, Adivasis and other down trodden people to bring them into the main stream of development through a process of its Philosophy, Ideology and appropriate method of work.

SHANTI MAITREE’s vision is to build a justice and civil society without discrimination of caste, class, creed, sex and religion where all the under privileged down trodden communities will be socio-economically, educationally.

Latest Activities

Under CRFM  across 3 districts and 17 blocks, covering 26,000 hectares, promoting sustainable cultivation of pulses and peas.

Through the Agriculture Production Cluster in Phiringia block, we have mobilized 25 PG to enhance high-value crop production, improve marketing with government schemes.

Under Odisha millet mission we have covered 3 blocks across 2 districts spanning 600 ha promoting millet cultivation consumption and value addition

The Makka Mission in Kotagarh and KNuagaon  covers 500 hectares, boosting maize productivity.

In the health sector, Maternity Waiting Homes in 2 blocks are improving access to institutional delivery and maternal care.

Natural Resource Management & Soil Conservation

Watershed Management is implemented in Baliguda and Tumudibandh blocks of Kandhamal district, focusing on soil conservation, water harvesting, and sustainable use of natural resources to enhance the livelihoods of local communities.

Healthy Food

The organization has started procurement of Ragi from the
Farmers for further supply to Food Corporation of India through
Odisha Millets Mission

Medical Facilities

We provide Medical services to Rural peoples through National Health Mission. 466 numbers of safe Institutional deliveries have been made during the last year. 

Education

This program ensures quality education for dropout adolescent
boys and girls of the age group from 6 to 18 belong to rural
tribal communities.
