Livelihood Programme
The livelihood intervention of SHANTI MAITREE exists to impact on livelihood of tribal’s/Dalit’s/marginalized towards a productive and sustained in a self-help framework. It creates a platform for the poor and tribal youths to be engaged and empowered for their livelihoods. In this context SHANTI MAITREE imparting trainings on IT, Home Nursing, Beautician etc and also placement given to them in the organized sector.
Programme Highlights:
- There are 200 JLGs have been Promoted & strengthen at Baliguda block of Kandhamal district.
- Four nos. of FPO have formed in Kandhamal district in the blocks Tumudibandh,Kotagarh,Baliguda & K.Nuagaon Block which is actively involved in cultivating, processing and marketing the Millets as well as other cash crop like Turmeric and Ginger.
- Watershed Development Fund (WDF) (NABARD) - This has been implemented in two blocks of Kandhamal i.e Balliguda & Tumudibandha. Under this schemes, villages i.e. Taipada village of Sirla G.P Tumudibandha named as Taipada Watershed and Digipadi village of Barakhama G.P Balliguda named as- Gramunda Watershed are being operational.
- Shanti Maitree has been promoting sustainable livelihoods programme through TDF WADI Programme in the Tribal Villages of Kandhamal duistrict. . Santi Maitree hasa already achieved goal of covering of 500 acers of WADI field through Plantation of High Yeald Mango & Lichi/Cashew ( 41 nos Lichi/Cashew & 36 nos. Mango Plants).
