Addressing the micro nutrient and malnutrition issue by promoting Millet cultivation and consumption in Tribal Areas of Odisha.- At eight Gram Panchayat of of Baliguda Block, three Gram Panchayat of Kendrapada block and three Grama Panchayat of Derabish block.
Operational Area:
Currently 160 villages of 14 GPs of Balliguda Block are being cultivated under this program. The detail name of villages are Sindrigao, Kutikia, Budrukia, Bataguda, Parampanga, Dadakangia, Midiakia, Barakhama, Rebingia, Salguda, Sudra and Khamonkhole, Landagaon and Balliguda. Besides that 6 GPs of Kendrapada Block and 6 GPs of Derabish Block have also been included during this year.
Customer Hiring Centre:
5 nos. Customer Hiring Centres have been established at Baliguda block and these centres are having Agriculture Instruments like Cycle weeders-101nos, Finger weeder-100 nos., Sprayer-6 nos., Tarpoline-146 nos, Thresher machine-6 nos, Weighing machine-7 nos., Moisture Metre-8 nos. and Seive Machine-4nos. for farmers. These machines fetch Rs.2240/- at their Pass Book.
The General body of the organization selected 10 Board of Directors from 12 GPs for the smooth management of the Company. Regular village level meeting are organizing and involving farmers as a shareholder. The organization has started procurement of Ragi from the Farmers for further supply to Food Corporation of India through Odisha Millets Mission.It has crossed the targeted procurement During the period 2022-23 and has also achieved the desired Target for the year 2023-24.
Production:
LAMPCS, Balliguda and Sudra procured ragi per Kg.34.50 from 1865 farmers of 3845 Qntl and have achieved 120% against the target. These farmers received Rs 1548400/- in the process of cultivation, seed production, nursery and harvestmen.
