On 1st May 2026, Gumapadar Farmers Producer Company Ltd., in collaboration with The Good Samaritan and under the guidance of Shanti Maitree, successfully organized a refresher training program on Jackfruit Value Added Products at the Kaladi Jackfruit Processing Unit.
The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of farmers, women members, and processing unit staff involved in jackfruit processing and value addition. Participants were provided hands-on learning on the preparation of various jackfruit-based products such as jackfruit chips, pickles, flour, and other marketable processed items.
The refresher session focused on improving product quality, hygiene standards, packaging methods, storage practices, and market linkages to enhance income generation opportunities for local producers. Special emphasis was given to sustainable livelihood promotion and strengthening rural entrepreneurship through value addition of locally available resources.
The program encouraged active participation from community members and created awareness about the economic potential of jackfruit processing as a sustainable source of income. Such initiatives continue to support the vision of empowering rural communities through skill development, enterprise promotion, and collective growth.
